Food:
I had the kimchi fried rice which was 5/5. The pork belly is to die for and the sauce it was paired with was amazing. The portion is just the right amount to keep you full but not stuffed.
Decor:
I love the decor and ambience here. A lot of greenery inside and chic decoration. -

Tried out this restaurant a week ago on a Saturday night. I appreciated that they could save me a table on the patio on late notice, but the patio isn't a pleasant place to sit. The traffic noise from Pico is too loud, so they compensate by blasting the music! Hard to have a conversation between the cars and loud music.
Service was friendly but unfortunately the food was pretty bad. We ordered the Salmon Miso and Arroz con Pollo. The miso sauce on the salmon was confusing ... sweet but spicy without much miso flavor. Plus the Salmon was overcooked. The Arroz con Pollo was okay but it was hard to tell what the cook was trying to do. Mainly salt and pepper and if there were other spices, it was hard to tell what it was. Overall, the taste was a notch above airplane food. Sorry ... I like supporting new restaurants, but I have to tell it like it is.
They are transitioning the menu from eclectic (kimchi fried rice) to Peruvian (ceviches), so their excuse could be that they're in transition. I'd go back for happy hour and some munchies, bu the dinner food was very disappointing. -

NEW EVERYTHING!
My friend asked me to choose a place I've been wanting to try out for my birthday dinner and Pikoh has been on my list for months. It was my first time there so I didn't realize the chef/owner Ricardo Zarate re-did everything from the interior, completely new staff and menu as of a few weeks ago (Sept 2019).
Happy Hour cocktails are a great deal at $6. The hard lemonade was delicious. Also gone is the happy hour food menu.
Though the food is delicious, the portions are pretty small, especially for the ceviche so order accordingly. I was recommended some dishes that I thought were good but I think you should go with your gut and order blindly without input.
--CEVICHE DE KAMPACHI was absolutely delicious but for $18 and 4 pieces, it left me wanting more.
--PAN CON TUNA was like a tuna avocado toast and very good and well portioned.
--CHICHARRON DE POLLO (like japanese chicken karaage) - I can skip this dish. I wasn't a fan.
--ANTICUCHO DE PULPO (grilled octopus) - Nope. The octopus was so small, i thought they accidentally gave us calamari...but i noticed the tentacles. Baby octopus?
--LOMO SALTADO - it was pretty good. I'd give it a solid 4 out of 5. My thought is that I can get lomo saltado at other establishments for half the price and even better. But, given that this is a trendy restaurant on West LA, and a well known chef, I understand the pricing.
Overall, I enjoyed my experience and I do have one dish I would love to go back and try - The Chaufa (I LOVED it at his other restaurant Rosaline). -

There's a new restaurant in Sawtelle, a part of West LA where all the foodies hang out. Pikoh is an all day restaurant that serves breakfast starting 7am. There's a coffee corner if you want to grab a fresh baked cookie and a cup of coffee to go. Service stretches through lunch, happy hour, dinner and late night drinks until 11pm.
Pikoh has everything that you'll need. Aside from the coffee corner, there's a bar area, outside patio, and main dining area. It's bright, airy, and sure does feel cozy while sitting in comfy, soft chairs. I love the hanging plants and succulents all over the place.
This is actually the latest project of renowned Chef Ricardo Zarate who's known for his expertise on Peruvian cuisine so expect some Peruvian influences in the menu just like the refreshing Chica Morada I had during my visit.
I paired my drink with meatballs served with homemade hummus. I requested a side of Quinoa bread toast. This meal was a great Peruvian and Mediterranean combo that worked perfectly for me.
Staff is composed of rather young kids who I believe are students in nearby university. All of them were very friendly and efficient. Special shout out to my server, Samrina who provided prompt and excellent service. -

Pikoh is one of those restaurants you totally miss since it's in an area that has new development going on. As soon as an article on Eater was released on this place, I knew I had to go since it was a new restaurant from the chef that opened Rosaline which I LOVE. Parking is not easy - permit parking on all the side streets and only meters on Pico that are usually all taken. Valet is about $8 I believe but I was lucky I found a meter. I came here with a group of 6 at 8pm on a Friday night. Every table was full when we got in. We got nestled in the back of the restaurant in dimly lit tables (btw, cutest little gold lamps on the tables).
FOOD:
Lomo saltado - holy crap hands down my favorite thing I've eaten here ! So much so we ordered a second round! The steak was tender and cooked well with onions and tomatoes and of course fries!!! The dish was so flavorful, it was addicting! I would come back here just to eat this again!!
Broccolini with poached egg - can't go wrong it was delicious especially with the egg
Bolognese - a good pasta but I've had better
Arroz con Pollo - I would skip- wasn't my favorite
Pork Katsu Curry over rice with egg - great katsu pork that's nicely breaded and tender. Curry has good flavor and is delicious mixed with the rice and egg
Kimchi Fried Rice - umm it has bacon in it so it was definitely good!! The salty bacon really added a great flavor to the dish and the kimchi is on the more sour side
Chorizo & Lamb Ragu - something about chorizo in pasta that I don't like. It was almost like eating a breakfast bowl!! I didn't favor this dish because of the combo, not that it tasted bad
Mussels - delicious mussels in a hearty sauce that you soaked up with the buttered bread they gave yum!
Overall a good place for dinner ! I didn't love some dishes but there's a lot of things on the menu so there's something for everyone! I would love to go back for brunch as well!
